Roppongi - a paradise for art lovers

District nightlife attracts day visitors. Roppongi - a fashionable neighborhood in Tokyo, which is known for its busy nightlife. This is the most popular place party celebrities and foreigners. And, although the area is now completely littered with modern high-rise office buildings, and it is still a place where people come to have fun and relax, and not only at night ... During the day and on weekends Roppongi attracts a large number of people who come here to visit an impressive array of art galleries, which are grown in recent years like mushrooms after rain. It's safe to say that the nightlife district, Roppongi, has acquired a new status of the area of art.

Huge exhibition space. After the Second World War in Roppongi was posted base of the American occupation forces, and soon the area has sheltered many restaurants, cafes, bars and a variety of entertainment venues, intended mainly for foreigners. A little later, there were established television stations and shops were built, which made Roppongi one of the busiest business districts of Tokyo. During the period of the bubble economy in the second half of the eighties youth flocked to the local disco, and Roppongi became famous as a favorite place for gatherings of foreigners, artists and media representatives.

District continued to thrive and grow, attracting the interest of changing its style here by creating modern universal multipurpose complexes, which in addition to luxury apartments included the elite shops and restaurants of the highest class. One of these was the Roppongi Hills complex, which opened its doors in April 2003, and the people who settled here, started as a joke called CA-Zoku, meaning "family of Hills." Other similar complex was Tokyo Midtown, which opened in March 2007.

Everything becomes better known as Roppongi center of culture and art. Tokyo National Arts Centre, which was opened in January 2007, is a completely new type of museum, which has no permanent collection of exhibits. All 14 thousand square meters of exhibition space (among other things, the largest in Japan) are used to accommodate a variety of special exhibitions, to collect and show interesting information for the arts and for the development of education in the humanities. There is also a well-known French restaurant restaurateur and chef Paul Bocuse, who first opened a branch of his famous restaurant chain outside France, thus making this museum center enjoyable not only the eye, but also the taste.

Suntory Museum of Art, with more than forty-year history and moved to Roppongi, bought a brand new fresh look and resumed its work in March 2007. Staying true to its core ideal of "art of life", a museum after moving articulated another principle of his work, declaring: "true beauty is opened to those who keeps coming back to the art."

Triangular synergy. Cultural symbol of Roppongi Hills complex, which has already been mentioned above, the museum became the Mori Art, which began its work in October 2003. By focusing on contemporary international art, the museum presents masterpieces of the leading masters of Asia and other regions of the world.

All three unique museum complex was referred to as "roppongsky Triangle of Art", because they are united by a common purpose of promoting art and cultural events in Roppongi. For example, if you buy a ticket to one of the three museums, you will receive a significant discount at the other two.

These efforts have led to what is called a synergistic effect. Stream of visitors of the Tokyo National Arts Centre is now more than three million people a year, Suntory and Mori museums are also experiencing significantly increase the number of visiting.

Now tourists and visitors of the Japanese capital can at least walk around all day in Roppongi, admiring the variety of works of art, and the area secured for itself a reputation as a world-class arts center.
