The research team of the Government of Japan declares that sufficient supplies of food and water should be stored in areas that may be affected by a strong earthquake off the Pacific coast of the country.

The researchers presented on Tuesday a final report on the preparatory measures for a powerful earthquake in the Nankai fault, which is located at a depth of 900 kilometers and stretches from the central to the western part of Japan.

The report suggests that home ownership in areas that may be affected by this earthquake should have a supply of water and food for at least one week. The report indicated that the earthquake could be affected large areas that would complicate the delivery of aid.

If an earthquake will affect a large number of people, all may not be enough shelters. People should be granted asylum in accordance with their needs.

Earlier, the group reported that 320,000 people could die if events develop in the worst case scenario in the event of a major earthquake and tsunami in the fault Nankai.
